Windows Installation Guide

 

1. Log into the eScreenz™ Content Server Administration Site, using the URL, user name, and password provided to you in your confirmation e-mail.

2. Once you are logged in, click the "Download Screensaver" link to download the eScreenz™ Screensaver installer. NOTE: In the rare event that your company's installation has multiple proxies servers set up for eScreenz, use the Advanded Download Options to select which proxy to use.



3. Click on the "Run" button



NOTE: The download is over ten MB, so this may take a few minutes depending on your connection speed.

4. If you see the following screen (depends on your version of Windows), then click the Run button.



5. On the first screen of the setup wizard, click the "Next" button to begin the installation process.



6. Click the "Next" button to begin installing.



You will see progress on the installation wizard as it proceeds with the installation.

8. When the wizard completes, click the close button.


 

 
 

Testing the eScreenz™ Screensaver   

 
1. Once the eScreenz™ Screen Saver software is installed, you must set it up as your Screen Saver in Windows.

2. Open the Screen Saver properties in Windows.
  • If you have Windows XP go to your Start Menu > Control Panel.  In the control panel, double click "Display", and click on the "Screen Saver" tab.
  • In Windows Vista or Windows 7, go to your Start Menu > Control Panel.  In the control panel, click on "Personalization", and then click on the "Screen Saver" button in the lower right hand corner of the Personalization window.
3. In your Screen Saver properties, choose eScreenz™ from the drop down list.

Note: If the drop down list is grayed out, changing your screen saver may be disabled by your company's security policy.  If that is that case please contact your system administrator.

4. Click on the "Preview" button to start the screen saver

Note:If nothing happens after clicking "Preview", eScreenz™ may not have finished downloading the slides from your content server.  Wait about 30 seconds and click "Preview" again.  If the problem persists, click on "Settings" and verify that the service URL entered matches the service URL that was given to you in your confirmation e-mail.

5. Congratulations!  You have now successfully installed the eScreenz™ Screen Saver software.  Now feel free to log into the content server and experiment with creating and publishing slide shows to your new screen saver!  Feel free to navigate to other pages on this help site for more help in how to administer and publish slide shows in eScreenz™.
